Doug Mohrland
Vice President
Doug grew up in South St. Paul, MN, attended South St. Paul High School and the University of Wisconsin – River Falls.
Doug began his transportation career with Berger Transfer & Storage, Inc., agent for Allied Van Lines in the summer of 1991. He was quick to earn his Commercial Driver’s License while serving the moving needs of Berger’s national account and private transferee customers. Doug later transitioned into sales and achieved great success in national account sales and management. In 2000, he was promoted to General Manager of the Berger’s corporate office in Roseville, MN. In 2004, he became Vice President of the Specialized Freight division, and in April 2025, he was promoted to Vice President of Beyond Freight Solutions.
Doug is proud of his South St. Paul roots. As a goalie, he helped lead two South St. Paul Packer teams to the Minnesota State High School Hockey tournament. He even rocked a top-ten “mullet”, a time-honored tradition of the tournament.
Doug and his wife, Shelly, raised their three children in Hudson, WI. The family enjoys boating, fishing, and snowmobiling in the beautiful surroundings of Hudson, as well as at their family cabin in Northern Wisconsin.
Mike Nelson
General Manager
Mike Nelson grew up in Blaine, MN, attended Spring Lake Park High School, and earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Waldorf University in Forest City, IA. Mike began his career with Berger Transfer & Storage, Inc., agent for Allied Van Lines, as a management trainee. He worked in a variety of departments throughout the Berger organization, but found his calling in operations and logistics.
Mike grew up in the transportation industry—his family owned and operated a successful produce transportation company. His experience in the family business, along with his involvement in competitive sports, taught him the importance of teamwork, leadership, and working toward common goals. Mike earned the respect of his teammates, being voted captain of both hockey and baseball teams.
Mike is passionate about both his professional and personal goals. Beyond Freight Solutions is the perfect environment for him, where he can collaborate with his team and business partners to find the right solution for each customer. His latest passion, golf, reflects his personal drive for excellence and his mindset to “bring it” to every opportunity, every day.
